Welcome to the New & Improved Webpage for The Mutt Strut Club!

The process it took to put this website together was a labor of love but its finished and I’m so excited to share it with you! I would like to take a moment to dedicate the launch of the new webpage to 3 four legged family members who have passed on but are still very much loved: Quincy, Cody, & Buster. All 3 of these dogs mean so much to not just myself but to people that I love with all my heart!

This webpage would’ve still been a thoughtful ” One of these days” wish in my head without all the great work of one person, Kristin Linde. Kristin, all I can say is WOW! It’s better then I could have imagined, and you were extremely patient with me so I THANK YOU VERY VERY VERY MUCH!!!

In honor of my very 1st Blog I want to hear from you past, present & future Mutt Strut Club Members and ask this question: What items/products do you use for your dog that you just can’t live without?

For myself, its a few things: The European leash or multi funtional leash, the Furminator,my Soggy Paws dog towel, and my Black & Decker cordless hand held vacuum with pet hair removal attachment.

The mutli leash is a 6 1/2 ft nylon leash with metal clips at both ends and has 3 D-rings built into the leash. You can be convert the leash so it has several practical uses. It can be used as a over the shoulder sash to keep your dog close in a heel postition, a quick clip tie-out for trees, benches, etc which makes it handy for me when I need to work with more then one dog at a time. You can walk 2 dogs on one leash, and you can also shorten it to a 4 ft leash as well. It comes in several solid colors & most pet supply stores carry them.

The Furminator: OMG! Try to take mine away from me & I might just growl at ya! It’s a grooming comb like no other to get all the undercoat out of your dog’s fur. I hate to sound like an imfa-mercial but it truly is amazing! My dogs, Mambo & Matilda have thick coats. Matilda has a Rottweiler coat that’s slightly curved but thick & Mambo has Akita in him so his undercoat is very dence! When I get done combing my dogs out I have removed enough fur from their undercoat to fill a standard pillowcase! Can’t live without it!

I got to use the Soggy Paws towel at a client’s house that had it for her dogs. Its available in 2 sizes, large & small. My client has the small ones that’s shaped like an stretched out oval with built in mittens on the ends. It’s a super absorbant towel that sucks up the moisture off your dog after rain soaked walks or baths. The mittens makes it super easy to clean muddy paws too! I recieved a large one as a gift from the same client & its shaped like a ginger bread man minus the head with built in mittens on the 4 rounded corners. I like laying the towel over my dog’s back while using the mitten corners to clean their paws and legs.I just love it!

And lastly the Black & Decker cordless vacuum has been my latest investment. I’ve had other cordless hand helds but the motors never last long. What I like about the B&D is it can handle the dog hair! The charge lasts for quite a while and the suction is powerful but my favorite thing is the pet hair removal attachment. Its designed to grab & gather the hair into the hose which is a must on carpeted steps & for my SUV.

So these are the musts I have for my dogs that I can’t live without, what’s yours?

The Mutt and Strut club is WONDERFUL!!! Our little addition joined our family last June and we had no idea where to begin. This was our first experience with a pet so we didn’t know how to set up training, schedules or just the overall plan on how to get started with a puppy successfully. Sonya the owner of the Mutt and Strut club patiently sat down with us and spent qualtiy time going over the best food to feed, how to get on a schedule and crate training! To this day every time I run into Sonya she always ask about our dog and always has friendly advice on new things to try. Our little Nala is a wonderful adition to our family and we appreiacte Sonya helping us to make the transition smooth. I don’t know what we did before Miss Nala!!! Thank you Mutt and Strut club!

I love Sonya! She is best dog walker/trainer I know. She really cares about your pet and your family! She is loyal, trustworthy and a truly wonderful person. I don’t know what we would do without her. If you are looking for someone to take care of your pet, look no further than Sonya Frimpong. You won’t be disappointed. Sincerely, The Tetzloff Family

If your pet needs a little tweaking in their behavior (or a lot :) , Sonya is your answer. We began with her when she was a trainer at PetSmart and took every class that she offered. At first it was to socialize our wild little Yorkie, but then it became about wanting to learn more and more from Sonya. She made difficult lessons (for parents and pets) understandable and gave easy hands-on methods to a step-by-step better behaved, and more important, HAPPY pet! The biggest lesson that we learned is that when your pet feel like a productive part of the family, they are happier and behave better. It’s a very holistic approach that comes naturally to Sonya because she genuinely connects and cares about the animals. She gives each dog her full, undivided attention, and I think that’s why our Yorkie fell in love with her from Day One! We’re still interested in her classes. Would you believe our crazy little Yorkie did Agility Classes and loved them?! Anyway, if you’re looking for someone to help you out with your training/care, you’ve come to the right place. You’ve found someone who will care about your pet as much as you do! If you have any questions, I’d be more than happy to reply. Sonya is clearly an apprentice dog whisperer. She is able to establish communication with dogs quickly and gain their respect. She relates exceedingly well with both dogs and their human companions. Owners are primarily responsible for their pets’ initial outlandish behavior; however, by the end of your training regime with Sonya, both “particpants” are clearly well behaved.

Sonya is enthusiastic, hardworking and always readily available ~ as evidenced by her prompt reply to telephone calls and e-mails. During our in-home training sessions, not only did she teach what’s needed to effectively train Riley (my Chocolate Lab), she also explained the logic behind the actions. She’s very patient ~ instructions delivered with graceful command ~ followed by repetitive corrections (inherent to task). She’s detailed-oriented ~ adjustments given promptly while performing drills. Her level of dedication is exemplary! I even received very easy to follow homework assignments via e-mail! The best part of training with Sonya .. it’s fun! My friends, family and even our veterinary staff have all have made comments on Riley’s improvement and ask what I did to make him so “pleasant” and “manageable”.

Sonya also pet sits Riley and Jackson. Twice a week she scopps up my boys to proceed on adventures ~ be it walks around Columbia’s many lakes or hikes on wooded trails, while at the same time providing “refresher” obedience training.

In summary, I highly recommend Sonya Frimpong as a trainer and dog walker/pet sitter. I trust her implicitly with the well being of my dogs!

Upon my return home of these those scheduled days, my pups are content ~ newly walked, toweled off (if necessary), water bowls refreshed, and tummies satiated with a kibble treat.
